A commercial litigator qualified and admitted to practice in both England & Wales and Hong Kong, with a broad experience in commercial disputes, acting for and against corporates, high net-worth individuals and financial institutions across multiple jurisdictions.
Alina is experienced with claims proceeding within the English County Courts, High Court (Chancery, TCC, QBD and Commercial Courts), Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court as well as in the Hong Kong High Court, Court of Appeal and Court of Final Appeal.
Recent high profile experience has included acting for the 2nd and 3rd interveners in the Hong Kong Court of Appeal - TCWF v LKKS, STL & OIL CACV 166/2012 - when her clients were joined in ancillary relief proceedings, resulting in a successful reduction of the applicant’s award from HK$1.4 billion to HK$410 million. In related proceedings, she also acted for the 3rd and 4th defendants in a landmark Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal decision on legal professional privilege - Secretary for Justice v TCFW, LKKS, STL & OIL FCAV 5 & 6/2014. She also acted for the administrators pendente lite in relation to the Nina Wang litigation in Hong Kong, when the richest woman in Asia died leaving behind two competing wills.
Alina joined the firm in September 2006 and spent 3 years working in the Hong Kong office, during which time she qualified as solicitor in Hong Kong.
